Welcome
Hey, thanks for helping us build SixLinks into something great. You all are officially the founding members of an online community that we believe will become a larger movement. SixLinks is still in its infancy, but there are a lot of great features and content already here. (Notably, there is also content that needs work and features that are broken.) We need your help to make it better, suggest improvements, criticize things that don't work for you, and make the site your own.
Everything is malleable. What we're creating is a site that appeals to people across the world, in all reaches of society. Our users, while initially \"green\" folks, will extend to your mom & dad. And since we haven't met everyone's moms and dads, it's up to you to tell us whether or not they could use the site.
So that's the intro. Some details on how to give feedback are below.
With our thanks and a promise of many future drinks,
Steven & Jeff
If you have an idea, problem or thought you want to share:
- if it's a bug (something on the site is broken, or you get a tomo-stare): go to the bug tracker (bugtracker.sixlinks.org)
- if it's a change in a big-picture page, go to the content wiki (content.sixlinks.org)
- if it's neither of those things, please post a new blog entry on SixLinks. Jeff and I will be keeping watch on the updates feed, and will see it. This also gives the other alpha testers a chance to see your ideas.
- remember we're in this together. We'll get lots of ideas from everyone, and not all of them will be implemented - but we are listening, and working hard to make a site that's the best possible for everyone!

How to use the bugtracker
The bugtracker is magical. You can create an incident, and Steve will make it all better. Register for bugtracker to start; once you are confirmed, click on the \"New\" tab to report a bug.
You can also use this to suggest a new feature or enhancement of a current feature. You can mark it by version and section (you're working on private alpha aka Thyme!) and assign a severity to it, from Trivial to Critical.
Then, summarize and describe the bug or feature, and click \"Submit Report\". Steve and Jeff get emailed immediately, and you'll receive updates on the bug as it is confirmed and fixed, as well as feedback from them.
Note: Attaching files is currently broken, and since this isn't a core SixLinks feature, we haven't gotten around to fixing it. If you have a visual problem, and took a screenshot (bless you!), please email it to [email protected] and include the bug number or a description. Thanks!
How to use the wiki:
Brief formatting Guide
Important Note: If you (like Steven) don't read instructions, realize that you can learn how anything on the wiki is done by clicking the 'edit' tab and looking at the source.
Some useful tips:
- To make a header, type ==Heading==. This organizes discussions into topics.
- To make text bold, use the 'B' button, or type three apostrophes on both sides of what you want bold (ie Bold text goes here)
- To link to web sites, type link title. This becomes link title.
- To make a list, type * in front of all list items; an example is this formatting guide.
- Use the summary field when editing - a brief description really helps other Steve, Jeff, and the other alpha testers keep track of what's changed via the History page.
- Finally, please sign your name to your comments on discussion pages. Signing your name with timestamp is easy (and makes you feel cool); just type ~~~~ and the Wiki will do the rest. This turns into something similar to: Rmaysie 07:46, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
